Greetings Terrans, as promised, my painting mojo is back, at least for the time being, so I’m making hay & working through my dwindling supply of primed minis. This week, it’s the rather famous Gaunt’s Ghosts that get the spotlight:

I’ve been equal parts excited and scared about tackling this set for about a year now, so riding the wave of renewed enthusiasm to finally get stuck in seemed like a good idea… and I have to say that painting them was good fun! I still found them difficult, and there are a lot of soft fabric surfaces to work through, but still lovely to paint. The faces in particular are really well ‘sculpted’, (rendered?), and were particularly fun:

I’m nowhere near as good at painting camouflage as some folks out there, (*cough* Azazel *cough*), but I’m pretty pleased overall :-)
Next up, more picking through my to-do pile of primed minis for a brief revisit of my Tzeentch warband!
Excellent work Alex, never got this version (didn’t know they had done them ! LOL) But had the original metal box set, think I still have them somewhere, so will need to find them at some point. Really like the camo you’ve done reminds me of some of the artwork from the books.
Cheers mate, very kind 😊
Very nice! :-) Quite a rough looking bunch!
Cheers mate, rough as a bunch of badger’s arses
glad your mojos back! they look just dandy!
Cheers dude, good to be back! I’m about to get into another study cycle, but I’m going to try and keep some paint time in the calendar 👍
Wow mate! Firstly, great to see you back and that your mojo has kicked in again. Second, I love the paint job on these guys. Gaunt is my favourite as I really like the yellow you’ve done. I have this kit so now I’m really looking forward to getting stuck into it. Great sculpts too so I don’t feel the need to convert anything.
Cheers dude, glad you like ‘em! Yeah, there wasn’t any converting that I could think of doing that would improve these either 🤘
Brilliant, I think you’ve done a great job of capturing the character of the Tanith First and Only. They’re certainly quite a departure from all the wacky Chaos stuff that you’ve been working on lately.
Cheers mate, it was nice to have a change paint-wise 😂
Those are great- I really like them.
Cheers,
Pete.
Cheers Pete, they were certainly fun to paint
