Greetings Terrans, I hope you are well. It has been a slow couple of weeks on this project – busy weekends mostly taking up any paint time, but I managed to do a bit here & there to get the last of the 6 OG Aspect Warriors finished – the mighty Fire Dragons:

I’m quite happy with these guys – Orange isn’t a super easy colour to work with, but they came out pretty much ok I think. The yellow works well with the general flame vibe, while the purple & bone help to add some contrast, as do the green gems. All in all, a satisfying finish to my Aspect Warriors.

As this completes the set, I can finally put an example of all six together – something I have been wanting to do since I was seventeen! This photo has been a long time coming :-)

Taste the Rainbow!

So that’s all for now folks, and I just have a few character models undercoated and ready to complete for this project – 3 Exarchs and a Warlock! Lovely :-)

Greetings Terrans – another week, another Eldar post, and I have to say that I’m pretty pleased to have kept up some momentum on this project! In fact, I’m getting pretty close to the end of everything I have primed and ready to paint, with just a handfull of minis left in the to-do pile, (though I have been quietly sourcing, cleaning and basing a bunch of ‘phase 2′ minis in time for undercoatin’ weather, but that’s by the by).

Anyway, here’s my output for the week – first, a pair of Lasgun Guardians:

Nothing too exciting about these guys, just nice clean Eldar lines with a look that really hasn’t changed in the intervening years… I still find it hard to believe this range is 35 years old!!

Next up, a pair of Dark Reapers:

I was quite glad to get these two done – not a fan of painting black in general, especially where I want a clean look rather than a distressed vibe, but hopefully these pass muster… The bajillion gems were a pain in the arse to paint, but I’m happy that I put in the extra effort because they really do help to elevate what would otherwise be a pretty bland pair of minis. I kinda like how they are all moody and serious, but still want to be pretty :-)

Anyway, that’s all for now… Next up, my favorite Aspect – Fire Dragons!

Greetings Terrans, time for another progress report on my lil’ OldHammer Eldar project. I’m really pleased with this latest addition to the army – a squad of Swooping Hawks:

I had been dreading and looking forward to painting these in equal measure – they are actually quite intimidating things to paint, what with all those gems and wing vanes… They did take longer to get through as a result, but they were well worth the effort. I’m really pleased with the red/yellow primaries, and I think the purple looks pretty nice on the secondaries as well. I was less sure about the purple helmets, (pfnaar), and originally planned to use yellow, but the purple has grown on me & I’m pretty pleased with the choice.

Anyhoo, that’s it for this post – got a few odds and ends to do next, including a couple of Guardians and some Dark Reapers!
