Greetings Terrans, I hope this finds you well. My apologies for not getting this out sooner, but this week has been pretty full on – nothing major, just work shit, but enough to push a few things out a few days. Never mind, better late than never, and what could be better than a cheeky bit of mini-monster madness for the weekend – this time with a rather more aquatic twist!
Let’s get straight into it with these imaginatively titles ‘Tentacles’ and ‘Tentacles Alt.’:

Not much to say here really – I googled up a few pictures of (plural octopus) and picked out a natty little number in red & orange with blue spots and white suckers. I hedged my bets on the bases & went for something that could be a scummy pond, a swamp or mire… I didn’t want to commit to full on water bases! Here’s a few trying to get to grips with Conan the Wanderer:

.
While I was in the mood for tentacles and such, I grabbed hold of the mighty ‘Thaug’:

.
I followed the same paint scheme as for the other tentacles – I figured that all the bits could be played as the same creature if required. Not much else to say really, the mouth was awkward but satisfying to paint, and the glowing eyes were good fun too. Here is Thaug about to get a yard of steel inserted somewhere:

.
Anyway that’s all for this week – a bit of a strange selection I suppose, but I think these will come in handy for Ghost Archipelago, or as some kind of mutant/alien sump dweller in a sci-fi skirmish. Catch you all next time 😊
Great work on all the tentacles, they look very organic, so perfect in my book.
Cheers mate – they’re a first for me so I’m glad I got ‘em looking plausable 😁
I have to agree with Dave in regards to the tentacles, really well done, and the Thaug is pretty gruesome!!
Cheers mate, they were all nice to paint for sure – Thaug was especially fun 😊
Very nicely done Alex and a bit different for you I’d say. I reckon those tentacles could be used to great effect in a diorama or two along with the Thaug. 🙂
Cheers mate, yeah, different for sure! One of the best things about this project has been the motivation to paint things I usually wouldn’t consider touching with my hairy stick… I feel like a better painter because of it!
First thing I thought of was how cool would these would lave looked emerging from the ocean in your wizards tower diorama! 😉
That’s fantastic, I can only echo the other comments with how organic it looks. Very versatile too – I’ve yet to think of a sci-fi or fantasy game it wouldn’t fit into.
Cheers dude, yup, it’s all useful stuff to have in the bestiary box 😊👍
Love these mate, Thaug is absolutely blooming awesome!
Cheers Roger.
Cheers mate, Thaug is a big old beastly for sure – and who knows how much is below the waterline! 😱
Awesome as always, I love the colour scheme you’ve chosen here. It’s weirding me out a little that Thaug’s claws get bases but the main monstrous head doesn’t.
Cheers dude, it’s have to be a big base! 😁
Wonderful- I love Thaug.
Cheers,
Pete.
Cheers mate 😊
Looking great! Thaug especially will hopefully find lots of use in different games, and could very easily work as a sand monster too.
Yeah, he’s super useful I reckon – he’ll be great in GA:DS!!
