Greetings Terrans, just a quick post from me today – managed to get a squad of five Dire Avengers painted up:

These are the original Dire Avengers, mono-posed when they first came out in WD127 back in 1990. These are absolute classic Jes Goodwin sculpts, incredible for the period, and I think the fact that Aspect Warriors are largely unchanged 36 years later speaks volumes about the quality of the design work.
I stuck with the classic blue/bone armour, with yellow used to tie the shrine back to the Craftworld and a bit of red for interest. Not too much else to say about these guys really – 5 identical sculpts painted identically!

Next up, a spot of green…
Superb – this whole project is great. Well done.
Cheers dude – still a ways to go 😊
Excellent – you’re making me want to paint some Eldar now…
No!!! Resist! You’ve got too much on the go already mate 😂
I’m been gone so long I have forgotten what an ace painter you are, well done.👍🏻
Cheers mate – I don’t know about that, but it’s fair to say that all the clean edges and general vibe of these guys have me pushing my painting more than usual!! Glad you like ‘em mate 😊
Classic Dire Avengers elevated by your painting Alex
Cheers mate, they certainly are rewarding to paint! There’s a reason the studio paint jobs are so enduring 😊
Great painting, great nostalgia trip. It says a lot about the iconicness of these sculpts that the modern ones are almost identical.
Thanks mate, it sure does! In my opinion, the Eldar range is Jes’ finest work – particularly for the period
Damn, Alex – you’re really working your way through these classic Eldar models. I’m jealous of you getting so many of them done and looking so good!
Ah cheers mate – just trying my best to do ‘em justice really!
