Greetings Terrans, I hope this finds you well. It has been a while, but I have been chipping away at a wee side project these last couple of weeks, and now I have a ‘still only counts as one!’ special to reveal. This is ‘Swampboss Skumdrekk’ from the Kruelboyz flavoured Orruk (i.e. Orc) sub-faction, who I gratefully received as a Father’s Day present:

It’s quite an imposing model, and is fiddly as hell to paint once assembled… yes, I’m an idiot when it comes to getting carried away at build time & forgetting to do sub-assemblies! Still, while awkward, it was a really nice model to paint, with loads going on across the whole piece. The monstrous mount is particularly characterful:

.

The rider is also pretty nice, but in my opinion, he does get a bit lost in the overall busyness of the model. I tried to mitigate that by converting the helmet to have a raised grill & showing the face off, but to be honest, it’s a pretty bland mug for an Orc! Still, I’m glad I made the effort:

Colour-wise, I stuck with the green/yellow/brown look that I had used for the Orcs in my Nurgle warband, so this guy can slot in to that Nurgle crew, or he & his fellows also work nicely as a small Orc warband by themselves:

Greetings Terrans, I hope this finds you well! I have another short Tzeentchy/Silver Tower update today – finishing up the Daemonic side of the Silver Tower set with a pair of wibbly pink things:

These are the two Pink Horrors from the ST set, and as with their Blue compadres, these guys got some light converting to try to separate them a little. The paint job followed the same principals as for the Blue Horrors – i.e. a silver drybrush washed over with the appropriate (pink, yellow, red) colours to give a metallic ‘because magic’ sheen.

Here they are with the rest of their Daemonic cohorts, and a final pic with Scynir:

I think they look pretty cool as a group – crazy & colourful, and very Tzeentch!

Greetings Terrans, more Tzeentchy stuff to share today – 5 shiny new Blue Horrors to add to one that I painted around this time last year. As before, the duplicates have been converted a bit to add variety. First up, 2 pairs from the Silver Tower set:

Plus a pair from the Eyes of the Nine warband (the one with the sceptre was painted last year):

I leaned into the whole ‘made of magic’ thing & painted my Horrors with a metallic effect, mixing in bits of purple and green with the blue to give some variety. Honestly, I’m really happy with how they came out, and I’m looking forward to trying the same approach with their bigger, pinker, equivalent!

As with the Brimstone Horrors, I don’t really have a use for these guys, but they were fun to paint, and at least count towards completing the Silver Tower set, (better late than never I suppose!).
