Hello chaps, just a super quick update from me today – been busy building up more Tick-Tock mans to go with the one I made around a year ago… My pal and I need four ‘fire throwing medium constructs’ for a Frostgrave scenario, and these seemed like a good fit. Also, conveniently, robot come in maniples of four in RT. Win-win!
Anyhow, here they are at the build stage:
I’ll be getting some paint on ’em as and when :-)
The damage looks great!
Cheers mate – I wanted them to look ancient and barely functional ;-)
Oh wow man. Love these. The cogs look so cool. I like the stance on each model too. I can’t wait to see the colour scheme.
Thanks matey – three of them are actually the same base model! They’ll be heavily weathered bronze & blue like the original ;-)
Great, proper automaton look !
Thanks JB, that’s the intention :-) I find the dead faces on the Sigmarines to be really creepy – despite the fact they’re probably supposed to look heroic!
Looking good mate – you know I was a big fan of the original tick-tock man so it’s great to see them getting some more attention from you. Love the damaged one on the left in particular.
Thank mate, it’s a good project to revisit! I’m particularly pleased with the heavily damaged one myself ;-)
Mmmm, interesting! Show more pics!!
Thanks Suber, you can read & see more of the original here mate ;-) https://leadballoony.com/2015/08/28/the-tick-tock-man/
Very inspirational!
Cheers buddy :-)
Incredible work on them! I love the cold faces combined with the eclectic mix of parts. Very creepy :-)
Cheers Joe, that’s good to hear :-)
Hey those are great. How did you do the exposed leg? maybe you could go a close up of it for your next set of pictures…
Thanks mate, it was just bits of old watch stuck together! I was going for a ‘clockwork rather than bionic’ look ;-) Deffo more pictures of that when the paint is on!
Fantastic work here again Alex. These guys simply look amazing and fit the 40k aesthetic so very well. I can’t recall if you mentioned it before, but where did you source the arms from? And also, the, erm, crotch-plates?
These are definitely on my long list of things to r̶i̶p̶ ̶o̶f̶f̶ take inspiration from one day.
lol – thanks Az, fill your boots mate :-) The arms, flamers and assorted bits of armour & grabbers are from the Kataphron set, with the addition of a Skitarii backpack to mount the weapon. The rest is just cogs and stuff from a job-lot of watch parts!
Thanks. I was about to buy a set of those about a week ago but they got sold just before my pay came in. Definitely on the shopping list now.
These look the business mate! Nice conversion work and original idea.
Thanks dude :-)
