Greetings Terrans, just a quick post from me today. I’ve got some more Eru-Kin painted up and off the to-do list – this time, it is a pair of the rather massive ‘Krug Troglodytes’, the heavy hitters of the Eru-Kin range:
Nothing fancy on the paint jobs – I had to get a hurry on, so they are mostly painted with ink washes, a light drybrush, and then some detail here and there, (aaaand I just realised that I forgot to do their eyes…)
I kept the skin dry-looking to suggest a more reptilian creature compared to the amphibious ‘wet-look’ I use for the Eru-Kin. I’ll use these as heavy shock troops in Rogue Trader, or as general monster material in other games. Here’s a comparison shot with some regular humans – you can see just how big these buggers are:
Their size actually meant that they jumped queue because they were taking up too much room in my ‘pending’ tray, but really I should’ve been working on the humans you can see above… I need them (and one other mini) finished for Sunday for something really really cool, but I’ll wait until next week to tell you about them in more detail… do feel free to speculate though ;-)
Looking good mate. I really like the blood splatter on them. I have to pull my finger out as the weekend draws near!
Cheers dude – and ditto!!! :-/
Damn deadlines! Feels like work! ;P
Ahaha see my gabbo is coming thing has rubbed off on you! I’m guessing the humans are for a battle with Mr Heresy of some kind?? Love the big yins mate. Did you add the skulls or are they part of the sculpt?
Cheers mate, and yes, all the skullage is part of the sculpt.
Mr. Heresy is certainly the driving force behind the humans, though I wouldn’t say ‘battle’ exactly… ;-)
What is it theeereeeen????
:-)
Bastard!!!! Haha
Oh, my those big boys are stunning. Very nice skin colours.
The zealots looks like a promise of cool stuff to come.
Cheers dude, they are cracking sculpts & were good fun to paint. And yeah, deffo some cool stuff to come :-)
The Flagellants kit is one of those kits I had my eyes on for a long time but never gotten around to pick up. You can’t really go wrong with religious madmen prone to hurt themselves (and everyone else too I guess). Much looking forward to see what you can do with these models.
Cheers dude, they are a useful kit, no doubt about that! Should be fun to paint these reprobates up :-)
Very nice in deed and I’m suitably intrigued to learn what’s coming!
Cheers TIM – watch this space :-)
Looking great and they are (human)gous… hehe good job
Cheers dude – they weigh a ton, I’ll tell you that much!
These guys look superb, outstanding work man 👍
Thanks mate – quick & dirty paint job, but it suits them well enough I think :-)
It suits them perfectly! Love what you’ve done with their bases too. 🙂
Cheers mate, glad you like ’em :-)
Whoa! That’s one big pair of Kroxi-guys! The colour choices on them look pretty effective, but then I saw their huge size. Very impressive!
Cheers dude – they are so heavy that I had to keep putting the buggers down during painting! :-)
Pretty sweet looking. So that’s what they look like outside of Blood Bowl. I see all those scales to highlight, whew!
I like those human figures, very cool looking. Looks like you’re a fan of the prime and wash method too.
Thanks man – I cheated on the scales with washes & drybrush ;-) As for the others, I don’t normally prime & wash, but I’m in a hurry with these guys, and they’ll be pretty drab anyway… TL;DR – I thought I’d give it a go!
Very nice! I think “big” is a bit of an understatement!
lol – wrist-achingly big when they were being painted! Cheers mate :-)
Wow Alex, these are impressive beasts! Love the color scheme, and you did make them look quite aggressively hungry!
Thanks Mark, they do have a brutal air of savagery about them, don’t they? Glad you like ’em mate :-)
Bloody hell mate, they’re massive! Reckon those tech-flagellants ought to get out of the way! You may have had to hurry but the end result beats most people’s speed painting by miles :-)
Cheers dude – yeah, I don’t fancy their chances much! (splat!)
Speed painting is the right term I think – not sure how it stacks up against other people’s speed painting, but thank you for your kind words. Fact is, I just don’t have time to go balls out on all my paint jobs! While it pains me to cut corners, sometimes I just have to be happy with ‘good enough’ :-)
Looking good man, I sure pity dem li’l humies!
Cheers dude, yeah, I reckon they are bang in trouble!! :-)
These guys look awesome! :D Nice work!
Thanks IM – I imagine they would be truly awesome in the reals – they would be 20ft tall!!! :-)
