Greetings Terrans, it’ll be another short one today – I’m keeping the ball rolling with my Conan characters, and have another pair to show you. First off, we have this guy – apparently he is ‘Khosatral Khel’, the physical manifestation of a demon (or god) in one of Howard’s short stories:

Clearly Mr. Khel is a fan of the ‘Tren look’, and all that muscle allowed me to have good fun with the paint. I worked through Darkoath Flesh, through Cadian fleshtone & Kislev flesh, and with a bit of shading back down with Reikland Fleshshade. A few more shades were used on the face & for the veins. I think this will be my go-to for Caucasian skin for a while, as I like how the tones play out across the whole model. The rest was pretty much my now-standard ‘Contrast basecoat, layered highlights’ approach.
.
Next we have another baddie – ‘Akivasha, the woman who never died’… Basically, she’s a vampire:

Akivasha is another model lifted straight out of the book – i.e. an under-dressed femme fatal. Again, I’m not getting hung up on that, but just enjoyed the process of painting her. I used the same skin recipe as I did for Khosatral Khel, with a bit more shading around the eyes & leaving out the ‘roider veins.
.
Here’s the devious duo together:

You can see what a big bugger Khosatral Khel is!!
.
And that’s it for this week! I’m enjoying working my way through the characters – they are pretty decent minis for the most part, (though there are a few stinkers), so more to share soon.
Nicely done Alex and those flesh tones have worked a treat on both figures. 🙂
Not sure why my comment is showing up as Anonymous! TIM
Who said that!? 😂
Cheers mate
Really nice mate. I love the eyes on Khosatral Khel. 👌🏼
Cheers dude – it’s quite a soft sculpt so there was a lot of guesswork involved! 😆
Wonderful work on both, the skin tones really sell the character
Cheers mate, they are nice figures to paint
Very nice indeed! :-) Both great figures I think!
Cheers mate, I think they’re pretty decent too given the material used – especially when compared with some of the other models in the set!
Amazing work on the skin tones, they look very realistic. I guess in the case of this pair skin was very much the main focus since they’ve barely got enough clothing to keep a Geordie warm on a night out. I have to admit that if you had said that the big chap was meant to Conan himself I would have believed you.
Cheers mate, yeah, laundry night is a brief affair for these two! I thought he was the Big C too, but apparently not… spoiler alert, there are six Conans in the set & this guy towers over them all!
Lovely work on both figures, as you say he’s a “big lad for his mum” isn’t he!
Cheers Roger
Cheers mate – he’s a lump!
Fantastic work on the skin tones, they really blend well and look realistic. I love the subdued metallics and dark reds too. Nicely done on these, and they look a ton more fun than those pirates!
Cheers mate, they were good fun – certainly more so than those pirates 😆
As others have already said the skin tone is great, I might have to borrow that recipe myself. Really nice work on the tarnished gold too. The Cimmerian is going to have his work cut out with those two.
Cheers matey, it is nice to have a big load of skin to muck about with! I’m sure our barbarian’s steely thews will be adequate to the task 😆
Sorry Alex I’m way behind!!! trying to catch up HA HA!
😊 no worries mate
