Hello chaps, last post of 2014 – I got the Tripod finished! There is a tiny bit of detail to finish on the base, but nothing to terrible. I’ve gone for my usual heavily weathered look, with plenty of rust and oil involved. I’ve painted the side hatch closed so I’ll be able to pop it open and add the crewman when I get around to painting him…
Anyhow, enough jibber-jabber, here are the photos:

The ‘face’
She’s a big-un!
Well, that’s it for this year! Much, much more to follow in 2015 – I’ve got big ideas for the 215th, and for the Scions of Venta as well… so many things to do! I want to thank everyone who has visited, and especially those who commented over the last 6 months – it has given me so much motivation, and I hope that I have inspired others in some small way as well. I do hope you all had a good Christmas, and wish you all the best for the new year.
Fits in nicely 😀
Thanks dude! I wasn’t sure that it would until the paint went on… But I think she’s looking the part now!
Nice one, it’s looking cracking now it’s finished. I didn’t really notice on the pre-painted photos but all the hanging cables etc really give it a ‘weird sea creature’ vibe (in a good way I hasten to add). I can imagine it wading out of the sea to bolster the beleaguered defenders or infiltrating an enemy city by walking along the seabed.
Looking forward to seeing what you come up with in 2015!
Funny you should say that mate, my Son said exactly the same thing! I’d love to model a whole bunch of them in various stages of wading out of the sea… that would be awesome. *sigh*… I promise to do that… if I win the lottery! ;-)
