By the time I had my Russ finished, I had managed to get a few games of 6th edition at my local club… now, I should probably point out that I was not very good at gaming at this point, (and I’m still not great at it now tbh!), but I particularly struggled with flying MC’s!

My mate Ross has a gorgeous Daemon army, (you can check it out on http://leadrising.blogspot.co.uk), and was regularly giving me a good kicking with his FMC’s, so I figured on getting me some Hydra action. There was no GW model at the time, and I had seen quite a few conversions on’t interweb, but I knew that I wanted to do something distinctive. Being a bit of a Starwars fan, I liked the thought of a walker-tank, and I thought that this idea would be suitably steampunk for my tastes. So, with a Maxmini AA turret and a couple of Sentinel kits in hand, I got to work. As an aside, I love the Sentinal kit, sooo many cool spare bits!

I painted it up in the same style that I used for the Russ, but with a little less mud, and then in true ‘more is more’ Guard style, I made me another one :-)
