Hello chaps, a very quick post from me today – I just wanted to share some WIP shots to give an idea of what I’m up to at the moment. First up is this handsome chap:

He’s based on Krom Dragongaze from Stormclaw, mixed up with bits from the Skullreaper/Wrathmonger kit… He’s shaping up nicely IMO – still vaguely Imperial looking, but barbarous and chaotic at the same time. The idea is to reimagine the Stormclaw dataslate as a wolf pack that is on the turn as that daemonic axe slowly warps his mind. I’ll be mulling over a decent backstory over the coming weeks, and this project will be a slow burner model-wise, but I think we’re off to a good start. You can expect a Blanchesque approach to the painting – comments welcome :-)

I also got a few of my Rogue Trader Pirates based up:

I’m just going to slowly paint my way through these guys on a per model basis – the aim here is to have fun and paint stuff that isn’t a uniform! Hopefully the end result will be a group of models that can be used in a number of ways – conscripts, gangers, cultists… even pirates!

Peace out Brothers – until next time.

Happy Monday all, and I’m super-happy to introduce LtCdr Nimoy – liaison officer of the (star)fleet, seconded to the 215th. I’m well chuffed with this guy – the aim was to make something recognisably Spock-like & Treky, while still having a serviceable and recognisable MotF. I think I pulled it off reasonably well – there are a few bits I might revisit, (like the shonky writing on the shoulder pad!), but I’m very pleased with the face, armour & sword, and the overall ‘feel’ of the mini is just what I was hoping for.

Hello chaps, real quick one today. I was off work with a dicky tummy yesterday, but managed to start this handsome chap:

2015-03-03 20.51.04

He’s a gimme from my pal Ross (Thanks Brother!), and I’ve been wondering what to do with him for a while when it occurred to me that he would make a really good MotF. He went under the knife, (well… hacksaw…), for a leg transplant, and got a new do. He’s been tidied up a bit more since this photo so he’s looking pretty cool, and he has had his undercoat applied.

My plan is to paint him up in a Spock-esque scheme as a nod to the recently departed Mr. Nimoy. I’m not a Trecky as such, but you’ve godda love Spock, and I was very sad to hear LN was no longer with us. Hopefully my painting will do the idea justice, and it’ll be nice to have a dedicated MotF as well… getting your reserves on the board is a highly logical strategy, after all.
